We do have a brochure, you can contact us and we can provide any information required.

We have an antique lamp base and the top has been broken. How can I get a new one painted?
If you send us your antique lamp base, we can paint a new one. It is also sometimes helpful to send us the broken pieces or a picture of the lamp with the globe intact. These lamps are unique and the base is needed to restore the top. A repaint requires that you paint just like someone else did many years ago.

Do you sign your work?
All pieces painted by VLR are hand signed by the artist. Each piece is a unique hand-painted piece of art. Replacement tops for antique lamps are also signed. The signature is carefully hidden in the pattern.

Is VLR able to get replacement glassware/hardware for my lamp?
We provide all lampshades. We can also get new chimneys and some hardware if needed. Reproduction fonts, burners and rings are usually available. We do not electrify lamps.

How can you ship such fragile, valuable items safely?
We have 35 years of experience with shipping china and antique lamps. These items are packed with great care. We ship UPS unless otherwise requested and all items are insured. See our shipping section for more information

Is it possible to bring my antique lamp base to you if I do not want to ship it?
Sure you can, as long as we are contacted in advance.

How long will it take to have my order completed?
Hand painting is a painstaking process and so these items take time to complete. Most orders will be filled within 60-90 days. Repaint lamp tops can take longer depending on how many firings are needed. We will give you an estimated completion date before we start the work. Time required also depends on current workload.

What porcelain items are available from VLR?
Any item in porcelain can be painted. Sinks, tiles, matching bath items, etc. To have any item hand-painted, please contact us. We have many suppliers of blank porcelain pieces. For custom tiles, please contact us and we can design the pattern for you.

Do you sell antique GWW lamps?
We have a large inventory of antique bases waiting for a top to be painted to match. If interested please contact us so a list can be provided. We also have some Rayo-type metal bases available for half-shades. We paint custom lampshades for metal bases and parlor lamps. We do not electrify lamps. Some of the bases available are electrified and are sold as is. We suggest you take any electrified base to a qualified electrician to have the wiring checked for safety. Some bases available have not been electrified and will still burn oil.

Will the paint ever come off my repainted lamp top, my sinks or porcelain pieces?
This artwork is permanent. The paint used for this art form is a special type made just for china and glass painting. The paint is applied in layers and fired in between paintings, so the paint is fired into the glass or china. These firings range from 1100-2000 degrees F. Gold and enamel can also be added to lamps and china. Because these items are fired and painted in this way, they can be washed and used over and over.
